A Dual-Token Protocol for Local Communities
UrbanChange is a dual-token protocol that promotes economic stimulation in local economies through community action and decentralized governance. The protocol’s stable “LocalCoin” incentivizes positive action in the community by local residents, and can be used to shop at local businesses. The governance “ImpactToken” is rewarded for spending LocalCoins, introducing a system of decentralized governance in local communities. With the power of blockchain and web3, UrbanChange brings all sectors of a local population: residents, business owners, organizations, and governments together to stimulate local prosperity and create a sense of community belonging, and pride through ownership. 42 Studio supported UrbanChange’s initiative prior to the Protocol launch, working to attract and retain interested individuals through compelling content on both Discord and Medium to promote the “Local Heroes Program”, prompt community growth, engagement, and further involvement with their protocol launch.
The Local Heroes Program
“Local Heroes” are community members or leaders who introduce UrbanChange Protocol in their local communities, and the Local Heroes Program is the way in which UrbanChange attracts founders, initiators, and leaders of local communities around the globe. It was the job of 42 Studio to provide the knowledge base and structure for Local Heroes to find the information and tools they need to be successful. Discord provided the organization and structure, and Medium articles served to expound on various applicable subjects.
Discord
The nature of the project demanded a masterfully structured Discord server, complete with roles, informative channels, and extensive FAQs to serve the needs of all interested individuals at every stage in their discovery of UrbanChange Protocol. 42 Studio built the structure for UrbanChange’s Discord server, implemented Roles and badge systems, and wrote pinned content for each channel.
1. Structure – we created the structure with all of the recommended channels customized to UrbanChange’s mission and brand goals.
2. Setup – the team set up the server with all of the channels and implemented reliable bots to moderate user content, streamline functionality, and establish user roles.
3. Pinned Content – we created content for each channel to guide the user journey with in-depth information about the Protocol, how it works, possible use cases, and how to implement it, complete with product FAQs.
